bbw Hochschule founds Institute for Academic Further Education (iawb) and expands range with academic certificate courses

It is thus expanding its range of courses to include an academic continuing education programme that is expected to grow rapidly. The certificate courses are developed under the academic direction of professors and are taught by them and other lecturers with university experience. Thematically, they cover the entire spectrum of the bbw Hochschule's accredited degree programmes such as medical law, HR, real estate management, innovation management, digital teaching and learning, digital industry and leadership. This makes it possible to award ECTS credits for some of them in addition to the bbw Hochschule certificate, which can be credited towards subsequent studies at the bbw Hochschule. The certificate courses are specifically aimed at managers and employees with leadership and project management tasks, but can be completed by anyone interested in expert know-how.

In addition, a cooperative PhD programme is being set up, which the bbw Hochschule is realising together with the renowned Budapest Business School.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, rector of the bbw Hochschule: "With our new certificate courses at academic level and the PhD programme, we are supplementing the well-known range of courses offered by bbw Akademie and bbw e.V. with new continuing education content at academic level."

For marketing purposes, the Institute for Academic Further Education (iawb) was founded in April this year. It is the central institution of the bbw Hochschule for the development and implementation of continuing education for business.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Kaschka, Vice-Rector for Academic Further Education at the bbw Hochschule since October 2020 and Head of the iawb, comments: "In the future, we also see ourselves as professional development partners for companies, in order to jointly offer and implement individually suitable qualification programmes."

In the coming weeks and months, the range of certificate courses will be continuously expanded. These will also come from cooperation with companies, educational institutions and associations. In addition to local people interested in continuing education, there is also great potential on the international market.
